Acrylic painting under pressure

Materials

Instructions

  • Cut out a frame out of the piece of paper. I did a rectangle but you can also do a square or circle. Be aware that a circle is harder to tape onto the sketchbook
  • Tape the frame to the right page in your sketchbook. Not only on the outside of the piece of paper but also slightly inside the frame so the paint won't leak under the frame
  • Put some drops or stripes of acrylic paint on the paper. Not too little, because the effect will be minimal, but you do not have to do it as excessively as I did in the video because then you need to correct it later.
  • Close the sketchbook and apply some pressure
  • Open the sketchbook and see the result. When there is too much paint you can take a blank piece of paper and put it in between the pages and apply pressure again. Now the excessive paint is taken away. Note that you don't need to do this too quickly. The structure the paint makes when it's being applied thickly is quite beautiful.
  • Take away the tape and frame
  • Leave it to dry for quite some time (depending on the temperature)
